About
Hi, I'm Magnus.
I save a lot, invest boringly, and spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about what "enough" means. This blog is where those thoughts end up. Magnus is not my real name, but I thought it was a fitting handle.
Why another FIRE blog?
Because almost all of them are American. The playbook is 401(k), Roth, the 4% rule and "just move to a cheaper state". Here in Europe the ingredients are different: accumulating UCITS ETFs, wealth taxes in some countries and none in others, state pensions that may or may not exist when I need them, and public healthcare that quietly removes the scariest line from the budget. eurofire is my attempt to write the version I wish I had found years ago.
House rules
- Everything is written by me. No ghostwriters, no AI-generated articles, no "content". If it is bad, it is my fault.
- Nothing is advice. I write about what I do and why. Your tax residence, risk tolerance and life are not mine.
- No ads, no affiliate links, no sponsors. If I mention a broker or a fund, it is because I use it or looked at it, not because someone pays me. If someone ever did pay me, it would be clearly displayed.
- Numbers are in euros and I try to show the spreadsheet, not just the conclusion.
Say hello
The easiest way to reach me is to reply to any newsletter email. I read everything, and I answer when I have something useful to say.
